Invitation to the next phase of Strategic Planning

Dear Students,

Last school year, we started working on a new strategic plan to guide the University of Redlands into the future.  Thank you for your valuable input so far.

I am writing today to invite you to participate in the next phase of strategic planning.

Thursday, September 29
All Student Town Hall
12:15 – 1:15 pm
in Orton Center and via Vimeo

My top priority in my first year as your president has been to work with you to engage in meaningful discussions about what makes the University of Redlands unique and special, as well as the opportunities to welcome and serve you even better, and to educate and prepare you for rewarding careers and meaningful lives.

Over the past 13 months, we have come together in spaces and places all over campus and beyond.  I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting with you in your classrooms and labs, watching your performances and athletic contests, seeing you on the Quad and in Hunsaker Plaza, hosting you for dinner at Miraflores, and sharing Cookies with Cookie.  Together, we have had over 110 meetings with staff, faculty, alumni, and students in attendance reaching almost 10,000 people!

A Proposed Framework for the strategic plan to guide our discussion is attached to this email.  It is based on your input and includes a revised draft of our mission statement, our shared culture, our values, and five-year goals and objectives.

Following the Town Hall, we will send to you a survey so that you can respond to what you have heard.  I am committed to hearing you, comparing new insights to those we have collected from you previously, and ensuring we understand your vision as we move forward together.

You are what makes the University of Redlands great.  I look forward to working with you to make the institution we love even better!

I hope to see you on Thursday!

Sincerely,
