New Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I am pleased to announce that Kinnari “Kin” Sejpal will be joining the University of Redlands as our new Vice President of Marketing and Communications.  She will begin her tenure with us on July 11.

Kin’s broad marketing and communication career has been spent mostly in higher education.  She joins the University from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where she started in 2017 as an assistant vice president before taking on greater responsibility culminating in her role as Associate Vice President, Marketing Strategy and Creative Services.  In this role, Kin provided counsel on a broad range of marketing and communication functions, including the launch of RIT’s national reputation campaign.  She collaborated with the campus community throughout the rebranding process and guided the development of sub-brand strategies for the RIT College of Liberal Arts and School of Communication.

Kin brings vast knowledge of and experience with enrollment marketing. Her expertise in data and social media analytics, content management, and digital marketing strategies has resulted in the success of several RIT campaigns and contributed to record enrollment growth in Fall 2020 and 2021.

Prior to her time at RIT, Kin served in a variety of roles at Purdue University’s Office of Marketing and Media. Among her many accomplishments there, Kin successfully managed Purdue’s comprehensive brand identity development initiative.  In her position as Senior Manager, Market Research, her primary area of focus included the execution of marketing research projects and tracking data metrics.

Kin has an M.B.A in Marketing and Strategic Management, and an M.A. in Communications from Purdue University.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai, India.

Kin is dedicated to advancing higher education and the importance of marketing in shaping the perception of our industry. To that end, she serves in prominent positions with CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) and AMA (American Marketing Association).

In her new role, Kin will lead the University’s collective branding, marketing, and communications initiatives.  She is charged with elevating our reputation by increasing awareness and engaging our campus community.  As you have heard me say repeatedly, we cannot afford to be a “best kept secret” and I know that Kin will do a fantastic job letting the world know about our strong academic programs, our commitment to community service, our global outreach, and warm and engaging student experience.

Kin will lead our marketing teams across the schools and will partner with enrollment leaders across campus to support student recruitment and retention.  She will also coordinate with Advancement to further drive alumni development and engagement.

I would like to express my thanks to the search committee members, led by Vice President of Finance, Kevin Dyerly, for their work, time, and commitment to the search process.

Kin will be relocating to Redlands from Rochester, New York with her husband and her dog, Mr. Riesling.  Please join me in extending Kin Sejpal a warm Bulldog welcome!

Sincerely,
