Subject:  Security Alert—Incident on the Redlands campus

Public Safety would like to advise the campus community of an incident that occurred today in the Hall of Letters on the Redlands main campus.

On September 18, 2023, an adult male shown in the photograph below – who we do not believe is a student – entered an unoccupied office in the Hall of Letters. When asked if he needed assistance, the subject stated he was looking for his sister and left the building. The employee returned to her office and noticed her wallet was missing. Public Safety was notified and conducted an area search. It is believed the subject had entered Sylvan Park.

After a lengthy investigation, digital images of the subject were obtained and shared with Redlands Police, who are conducting an investigation.

A digital image of the individual in question is included below for safety and awareness considerations. At the time, the individual was wearing a black jogging suit with orange stripes on the sleeves and red shoes. He was also carrying a black backpack.
