Subject:  Information Regarding Juvenile Prank on Redlands Campus

At 6:50 p.m. on November 30, Public Safety received a call from a staff member in Duke Hall reporting non-student juveniles running through the building yelling what they thought may have been "we got a gun.” Two officers responded immediately, thoroughly searched the building, and made contact with the two classes that were in session. Officers confirmed that there were no individuals in the reported area with a weapon and no threat to our community. Witnesses had conflicting stories as to what they may have heard the individuals shouting. An investigation is ongoing to identify these individuals who were captured on video at the time of the incident.

Out of an abundance of caution following the weekend’s alert about a non-credible shooting threat, we have added extra patrols on campus. For the remainder of this week, you will see unarmed CSC security guards patrolling outside common spaces and inside buildings.

Our highest priority remains the safety and security of our campus community members.

Please contact Public Safety at 909-748-8888 or ext. 8888 with any questions.
