Subject:  Redlands Campus Safety Advisory

Public Safety would like to advise the community of three incidents that occurred on October 28th and 30th near the Redlands campus around the Orange Blossom Trail. This information is being provided for awareness purposes since the individual has been ordered to stay away from campus by Public Safety and the Redlands Police Department.

On October 28, 2022, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a student was running on the Orange Blossom Trail, east of Grove St, when she encountered a male adult riding a bicycle along the trail. The male followed the student for a short distance while making strange but non-threatening comments and eventually stopped following her.

On October 30, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a student residing at the Grove St. Apartments called Public Safety to report a male adult had followed her along Grove St. near Sylvan Blvd. as she walked towards her apartment. The male continued following the student to the Grove St. Apartments and attempted to engage her in conversation. The student entered her apartment and called Public Safety who quickly located the individual on Cook St. and recognized him from a previous encounter. It was determined this was most likely the same individual as noted in the October 28th incident. Public Safety admonished this individual to cease their contact with members of the campus community and to remain away from University property.

Later that same day, a student residing in the Grove St. Apartments called Public Safety to report a male yelling in the vicinity of the Orange Blossom Trail, east of Grove St. Public Safety and the Redlands Police Department responded to the area and located the responsible individual off campus. The person was identified as the same individual in the previously reported incidents in the area. They were admonished by Redlands Police to remain away from the University.

A photo of the individual in question is attached for safety and awareness considerations.
