Harassment

Harassment is conduct that is reasonably perceived as: (1) creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment; (2) interfering with an individual’s work performance, or access to educational activities and programs; or (3) adversely affecting an individual’s employment opportunities, or access to educational activities and programs.  Harassment can occur in a variety of forms including, but not limited to; face-to-face encounters, acts by a third party aimed at the victim, and cyber-bullying.  Cyber-bullying is defined as the use of e-mail, pagers, instant messaging, cell phones, chat rooms or other forms of information technology to harass, threaten or intimidate someone.  The University takes very seriously, and investigates all complaints of any type or form of harassment.
