How to Apply

Step 1: Attend the May Term Travel Fair and/or May Term Information Sessions

Attend the May Term travel fair (September 13th, 6 p.m. in Casa Loma) to learn more about the exciting May 2024 course offerings. All University of Redlands faculty who will lead a May 2024 travel course will provide information about their courses to prospective students. While not mandatory, we highly recommend that interested students attend the event as faculty commonly develop lists of prospective students by the end of the Fair and often begin to schedule individual or group interviews for applicants. Students who do not attend may find that certain courses have filled by the time they have contacted faculty at a later date.  Faculty may offer additional information sessions about their courses; information on those sessions can be found on our Events page.

Step 2: Attend Course Specific Information Sessions and/or Participate in Interviews

Contact faculty leaders to express your interest in their course and attend any information sessions or interviews the faculty hold. Faculty will begin to make admissions decisions as a result of these sessions and interviews during the course  recruitment period.

Course Recruitment/Interview Period: Tuesday, September 13 –  Friday, October 21

Step 3: Complete May Term Travel Grant Application (Optional)

The University of Redlands offers a number of May Term Travel Grants. See May Term Travel Grant section for more details on the grant.

Grant Application Deadline: Friday, September 30

Step 4: Complete Registration and Financial Commitment Form (Admitted Students Only)

Once the faculty leader has offered you a place in their course, their next step is to provide you with a Registration and Financial Commitment Form. By signing this form, you are confirming your course registration and financially committing to all course costs. The form must be signed by both you and the faculty leader to finalize your acceptance into the May Term travel course.

Registration and Financial Commitment Form Deadline:  Friday, October 21

Step 5: Make Full Course Payment or Enter into Semester Payment Plan

Students can begin making payments toward their May Term Travel Course at the time the charge is applied (spring semester invoice) to self-service and a satisfactory payment arrangement must be made by late April.  Students participating in May Term Travel Courses have a variety of payment options, including one- time payments, monthly payment plans, and financial aid.

Full Payment/Payment Plan Deadline: late April

Step 6: Submit All May Term Travel Course Forms

During spring semester, faculty leaders will provide you with post acceptance documents and forms. All post acceptance materials must be received by the deadline.

Travel Course Forms Deadline: Tuesday, February 21

Step 7: Full Payment Deadline for Payment Plan Students

If you have not made final payment by this deadline, you will not be permitted to participate in your May Term travel course and will be responsible for some or all course costs as outlined in your signed Registration and Financial Commitment Form.

Final Payment Deadline: in April
