What is a management degree? 

In the Management program, you will find a dynamic education that will allow you to combine multiple areas of intellectual interest in your collegiate education and career plan. You will be provided an understanding of the complex environment in which organizations function and the challenges that decision-makers face in for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Classes you'll take

The following courses are subject to change. View the latest university catalog for all coursework information, program requirements, and learning outcomes. To graduate with a BA in Management, students must complete a second major program with 28 unique credits in each program.

Complete ALL of the following courses:

  • ECON101 - Principles of Economics
  • BUS136 - Principles of Global Marketing
  • BUS226 - Rise of Capitalism 1860-1941
  • ACCT210 - Principles of Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • BUS240 - Business Law

A transfer student who meets all the following stipulations is considered to have completed the ECON 101 requirement listed above for the B.A. in Management:

  • Sophomore standing at the time of initial registration;
  • completion of a micro- or macroeconomics course at their prior institution(s) with a grade of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale;
  • transfer credit for the course granted by the University of Redlands.

  • BUS430 - Human Resource Management
  • BUS434 - Applied Business Ethics
  • BUS458 - Business Policy & Strategy for BA Mjrs

1) Another Management course may be substituted for BUS312. 2) Another ethics course may be substitute for BUS434.

Management Electives

Complete at least 1 courses in the following course sets:

  • Business 300-level
  • OR Business 400-level
  • OR Accounting 300-level
  • OR Accounting 400-level

Complete at least 1 course or an approved course as approved by the Business Administration and Management advisor.

To graduate with a BA in Management, students must complete a second major program with 28 unique credits in each program.

What you'll learn

You will learn how to critically analyze current and past business practices through written assignments and classroom exercises based on an understanding of the foundations of capitalism and market economies, both domestic and international.
You will learn to utilize verbal and written communication skills and how to engage an audience through a coherent, well-orchestrated research presentation and produce in-depth written analyses of course readings and/or cases.
You will learn to assess and practice interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, community volunteers and university members in a team setting to solve organizational problems.
You will learn to apply critical and strategic thinking to produce sound managerial decisions while taking into account relevant perspectives, research and the impact on the communities served.

Career and Alumni Outcomes

The Bachelor of Arts in Management prepares students for careers in the business, accounting, government, and not-for-profit sectors of the global economy. Depending on the second major, students completing the Bachelor of Arts in Management pursue graduate study and careers in art, journalism, law, public policy, health care, human resources, marketing, film, and education, among others. Our students go on to complete advanced degrees at the world’s top graduate and professional schools. Recent graduates have entered fields ranging from professional sports management, marketing, international project management, events management, television program development, to international logistics and investment banking. Potential career paths include, but aren’t limited to what is displayed below.

Students with the Bachelor of Science degree pursue graduate study in business, healthcare, sports management, human resources, human resources, law, and sports management, among others. We are excited to be part of the University’s 4+1 undergraduate to graduate programs leading to an MBA as well.
