Mario Lopez at Redlands

Actor, author, television and radio personality Mario Lopez will talk about his life and work at 7 p.m. March 12, 2015 in Orton Center on the University of Redlands campus. This event is open to the public and tickets are available online at Redlands.edu.

Lopez will talk about his career start and how it evolved, his experience on Broadway in A Chorus Line, and share behind-the-curtain stories about the industry. He will also talk about his work with the Boys and Girls Club of America, philanthropic work and future professional endeavors. He will take questions from the audience following the talk.

Lopez currently hosts the television magazine show Extra, radio show On with Mario Lopez and is a guest commentator on HBO Boxing. He recently completed his first autobiography, Just Between Us, a memoir of his successes and disappointments, never-before told stories and family values. He has also authored books on healthy eating and fitness, and two children's books, Mud Tacos, and Mario and Baby Gia. He works with the Boys and Girls Club of America's BE GREAT campaign, bringing to light the major issues affecting today's young people, including the importance of graduating from high school and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Some will remember Lopez as A.C. Slater on the television series Saved By The Bell in the early 1990s, and the shows spinoffs. He has starred in Pacific Blue, The Bold and the Beautiful, Nip/Tuck and been featured in many television movies.

This event is part of the Associated Students of the University of Redlands (ASUR) Convocations and Lectures series with co-sponsorship from the Campus Diversity and Inclusion DUDES program. Students, staff and faculty will each receive one ticket free.
