Award-winning poet, editor and translator featured in Fall Visiting Writers Series

The Creative Writing Department continues its fall Visiting Writers Series with award-winning poet, editor and translator Gillian Conoley at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 in Hall of Letters 100 at the University of Redlands. This event is free and open to the public.

Conoley is the author of seven collections of poetry, including her most recent, Peace, which was named an Academy of American Poets Stand-out Book for 2014 and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award. Her poetry collection The Plot Genie was a finalist for the 2010 Northern California Independent Booksellers Association Poetry Book of the Year.

A professor of creative writing and poetry at Sonoma State University, Conoley founded and serves as editor of the institution’s literary magazine, Volt, and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in poetry, directed writing, editing, literary analysis, gender in literature and rogue women writers.
