S. Quentin Olive-Larson, 2022, MSGIS Cohort 40

The Hopi Nation have called the Four Corners region in southwestern United States home for hundreds of years. The Hopi currently hold sovereignty to 1.5 million acres in Northern Arizona. So far, over 5,000 cultural sites have been discovered and documented in the Four region by the Hopi Cultural Preservation Office, established in 1985. This office works to track and document sites and to protect them from acts of looting and vandalism.
