Subject: Campus Updates and Reminders

With the start of the semester just a week away, I wanted to provide some “to do” reminders, as well as some campus updates, both of which I hope you will find helpful.

First, the To Do list:

TD1. Please click on this link to complete, verify or update your emergency contact information. This is the first item on the list because it is the most important. Please make it a priority.

TD2. If you are a new student (first year or transfer) and you haven’t yet registered for orientation, please do that today, here.

TD3. Don’t forget to download the TimelyCare App, as all CAS undergraduate students have access to both mental health and medical care resources through this online platform.  Do this soon as you never know when you might need support or guidance.

TD4.  While you can purchase Metrolink train tickets directly through the Metrolink App, or  the vending machine on the campus train station platform, if you purchase them by September 1, 2023 here you will receive a 25% discount off the already reduced student price.

TD5.  If you haven’t already, click here to request a parking permit (Yes, they are still free!). Returning students, permits expire annually, so check to see if you need a new one.

TD6.  Don’t forget the deadline to adjust your meal plan, through your housing portal, is Friday, September 1, 2023; the first of many Fridays in the academic year when everyone should be wearing school colors.

TD7.  And finally, upload a photo for your student ID on the Redlands App or, if you are a returning student, confirm your photo is still active. If not, please upload a new one.

Second, just a few campus updates:

  • I toured Anderson Hall last week; it is looking great, as are the new Esports Arena, and the remaining University Hall space. ADA accessibility related improvements have been completed in Larson Hall, Williams Hall, and in parking lots, too.  Access ramps have been improved or installed in front of Bekins/Holt, as well as UHall and the Esports Arena.  Anderson Hall is equipped with motorized entry at the front and rear of the building, and all public restrooms are ADA accessible.
  • In response to the closing of the Bulldog Market, The Den menu will feature Market favorite Poke Bowls, available daily between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Launch Kitchen will carry some of the Market C-store items.  To learn about some of the events Harvest Table has scheduled for the semester, like their first Pop-Up on August 28, 2023, click
  • New equipment for the Fitness Center is taking longer than expected to get here; we anticipate it will arrive about mid-September.
  • New washers and dryers have been installed across campus.  Go to the WASH Connect website to learn about all the new features, to include knowing when and where machines are available, and mobile pay.
  • George Willis wanted me to let you know, he misses you and looks forward to seeing you walking around campus on Fridays in school colors!

The Student Affairs team, and so many others are looking forward to seeing you on campus soon. Enjoy the very few remaining days of summer.

Go Bulldogs!
