Join students, faculty, staff, and community members as we walk in solidarity of peace and reflect on on the meaning of our theme: "The Time is Always Right to Do What is Right." Hosted by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Steering Committee and the following classes participating in the walk: Professor Susan Goldstein (Psychology of Prejudice), Professor Kathie Jenni (Ethics and Law), Professor Priya Jha (African Literature), Professor Celine Ko (Health Psychology), Professor Sana Tayyen (Islam in America), Professor Jennifer Tilton (Intro to Race and Ethnic Studies), and Professor Renee Van Vechten (Intro to American Politics).

About the MLK Steering Committee

The MLK Steering Committee, which is to be comprised of students, staff, and faculty from across the university, will seek to accomplish the following goals:

  • Uplift Black and Brown voices
  • Work with the University to make MLK Jr. Day a permanent Holiday
  • Create opportunities of engaged learning and community service
  • Bring awareness to current instances of injustice and encourage the use of Dr. King’s teachings to progress towards justice
