Whether you want to learn how to surf, rock climb, or simply pursue the pristine beauty and freedom of the wilderness and the beach, Outdoor Programs is for you.

Along with enjoying amazing trips and outings, you'll learn environmental conservation, hone your leadership skills, grow in ways you've never imagined, and become  part of a healthy, active, outdoor community.

OP Trips

Between one and four trips are usually led every weekend and also during short-term breaks such as Fall or Spring Break. You can select from a variety of destinations—near and far—and activities, including rock climbing, camping, backpacking, hiking, sea kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking skiing, snowboarding, snorkeling, surfing and more.

Embark on a First Year Journey

These pre-orientation trips will help you meet fellow first-year students before Orientation Week. Select from community engagement journeys, academic immersion, or outdoor experiences. Past trips include volunteer work with the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, history lessons with Redlands professors at a local library, and kayaking the Channel Islands.

Wilderness First Responder Training

Gain life saving wilderness skills through the Wilderness First Responder course offers. Held during Spring break this course offers hands-on training in wilderness and rescue medicine.
