Conservatory of Music

In the Conservatory of Music our goal is to help each student achieve their potential to become a well-rounded musician. All great performances go far beyond technical mastery to include a sense of history, society, culture and art. At Redlands, our students learn to perform, interpret and teach music in a liberal arts environment that provides a broad education and intense training.

About the Conservatory of Music

In the Conservatory of Music our goal is to help each student achieve their potential to become a well-rounded musician. All great performances go far beyond technical mastery to include a sense of history, society, culture and art. At Redlands, our students learn to perform, interpret and teach music in a liberal arts environment that provides a broad education and intense training.

At Redlands you can perform in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Chapel Singers, University Choir, Studio Jazz Band, Jazz Improv Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Guitar Ensembles, and Opera Theater Workshop. Our studio faculty are among the finest musicians and teachers in Southern California. The classes are small and your teachers will know you well, giving you an individualized education.

The Conservatory of Music has a very close and special relationship with the Redlands Symphony Orchestra (RSO). Redlands students get to see their teachers perform in Memorial Chapel as the principal players in the RSO and qualified students have the opportunity to play in the RSO as an assistant, substitute or section player. The student winner of the University of Redlands Concerto Competition earns the opportunity to perform with the RSO on a regular subscription series concert.

You are always welcome to visit campus, observe a class, have a sample lesson and/or sit in on a rehearsal. Come and see what we do!
