What is a Master of Music in Conducting Degree?
The Master of Music in Conducting degree program is designed for the professional preparation of conductors, with options in choral, orchestral, and wind literature. The curriculum includes individual instruction in the techniques of conducting, score preparation, rehearsal preparation, and rehearsal techniques as well as significant conducting experience with the University ensembles.

- Develop and defend musical judgements.
- Demonstrate the ability to realize a variety of musical styles.
- Demonstrate the technical skills requisite for artistic self-expression at a level appropriate for the particular music concentration.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills sufficient to work as a leader and in collaboration on matters of musical interpretation.

Program info
The Conservatory of Music offers rolling admissions for graduate programs and will continue to accept applications throughout the year. However, the deadline for graduate assistantship consideration is April 1st.

- Completed music application (no application fee required)
- Music Audition
- Official transcripts from all schools where a bachelor's or master's was or will be conferred. *In some cases transcripts from other institutions attended may be required.
- Two letters of recommendation
- Resume/CV

- Saturday, February 7 – University of Redlands main campus
- Saturday, February 14 - University of Redlands main campus
- Sunday, February 15 - Video audition submission deadline
- Saturday, February 21 - Virtual interviews for composition applicants and those who submit a video audition

• Opera Workshop performs a major production with orchestra each spring.
• Musical Theatre and Opera have the School of Performing Arts (SOPA) students work in collaboration with faculty to produce and perform a full staged musical production or opera in alternating years.
• Undergraduate and graduate music students can compete to perform in the President's Honor Recitial.
