In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers have needed to abruptly transition their lessons from physical classrooms to distance learning platforms. School of Education Professor Nicol Howard offers tips and tricks for teachers working in this changed environment.

A culmination of a year’s worth of work, the annual senior art show gives students a taste of what it’s like to be a part of a gallery show. This year, that show is going to be quite different.

“This [luncheon] was an opportunity to acknowledge our corporate and community college partners for their continual support,” says School of Business Redlands Campus Director Liz Villegas.

Vice President for Enrollment Kevin Dyerly speaks about how U of R’s admissions and financial aid teams have responded to the needs of students in these challenging times.

From living rooms to virtual chatrooms, faculty, staff, parents, and friends found ways to express their irrepressible pride and appreciation of graduating students.

“Virtually together, socially distanced and all, attendees witnessed members of a smart, resilient, interesting, and quirky cohort saying goodbye in harmony,” writes the Johnston Center assistant director.

Part of the celebration during commencement season is the announcement of numerous well-earned honors at the University of Redlands. We proudly showcase each of these stellar accomplishments and congratulate all of these students.

“I have seen this community come together in many ways,” says the outgoing president of the Associated Students of the University of Redlands.

“The biggest challenge with the transition to online-based learning was that I didn’t expect my life to become busier than it was before,” writes a College of Arts and Sciences student.

A visiting professor in the Graduate School of Theology brings an unusual perspective to current events.

Members of the University of Redlands chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha didn’t want to cancel their planned conference due to COVID-19 restrictions, so they hosted it online.

“This generous grant from the Fletcher Jones Foundation continues a long tradition of supporting technology that serves our students and faculty,” says Chief Information Officer Steve Garcia.
