Master of Arts in Education: Learning and Teaching

Gain the skills and real classroom experience you need to make a meaningful impact in your classroom and community.

Choose your path to the classroom

The Master of Arts in Education: Learning and Teaching (MALT) program prepares you to earn your degree and a California teaching credential while building skills to challenge inequities and create inclusive learning environments. With five credential tracks, you'll find a range of program options designed to support your path and goals in education. Dual credential tracks allow you to earn two teaching credentials in the same amount of time it takes to earn one, expanding the types of classrooms and students you can serve.

Become an educator dedicated to equity and educational justice

Through the MALT degree, you’ll prepare to teach in diverse and growing communities like the Inland Empire. The program reflects the School of Education’s commitment to equity, justice, and community transformation.

In this program, you will:
 •  Gain hands-on classroom experience with guidance from experienced educators
 •  Build the confidence to lead your own classroom and support diverse learners
 •  Complete your degree in two years or less (4 semesters)
 •  Learn through a hybrid format that blends in-person and online learning, or choose a fully online special education track
