"This program helped me improve the skills that I should be applying in the classroom and with researching possible clubs on campus I might be interested in joining." - University of Redlands Student
The goal of our Peer Mentoring Program is to give students an enhanced college experience and provide academic and social support. We strive to help participants establish academic independence and assist with the transition to college life through positive mentor-mentee relationships. The program identifies student needs, provides referrals to available support and services, and facilitates mentor-mentee relationships through regular communication, accountability, and discovering new study skills or academic habits.
You can expect the following from the program and your mentor:
Referrals to academic and social resources on campus
Enhancement of academic success skills
Assistance with class selection, LAF/LAI, majors, etc.
Assistance with the academic and social transition to college life
Discuss, set, and work towards accomplishing college and life goals
Meet consistently with your mentor both one-on-one setting
Maintain professional integrity, privacy, respect, and sensitivity in mentoring
