Alyssa ("Aly") is a third-year psychology doctoral student at Loma Linda University. Originally from Seattle, WA, she earned her B.A. in psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Aly believes in a holistic approach to therapy, believing that both one's psychological and physical selves play a role in influencing overall wellbeing. In therapy, she draws on a variety of modalities, including emotion-focused, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral approaches. Aly has experience working at an outpatient clinic setting with adolescents and adults presenting with a variety of difficulties. Some of her interests include working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, those who have experienced trauma, and those who are struggling to cope with major life changes and transitions. She values being her authentic self as a therapist and strives to help her clients feel supported and empowered throughout the therapy process.
