Students living on campus will check in, receive their orientation materials, and officially begin their Bulldog journey at the University of Redlands. During this energetic time, students will move into their residence halls, connect with staff, and prepare for an exciting weekend of community building and campus traditions.

Check in for New Student Orientation, pick up your materials, and get settled before the weekend officially begins. While you're here, explore campus through guided tours and stop by open houses hosted by campus departments to learn about the resources, services, and people who will support your success at Redlands.

HSI Parent Spanish Info Session "Entre Familia" | RSVP Required in Advance

Families are invited to join us for "Entre Familia", a special Spanish-language welcome designed to celebrate and support our Spanish-speaking Bulldog families. Connect with campus partners, learn about important resources, and discover how we will work together to support your student's success at Redlands.

This is where the excitement starts. Join your fellow new Bulldogs for the official kickoff of New Student Orientation as we welcome you to campus, introduce your Orientation Leaders, and get you ready for an unforgettable first weekend at Redlands.

Every Bulldog's journey looks a little different. Students and families are invited to choose the session that best fits their experience, whether that's living on campus, exploring the unique Johnston experience, or learning more about the broader Redlands student experience.

University of Redlands Convocation

Join your fellow new Bulldogs for one of the University's most cherished traditions as we officially welcome you to the academic community at Redlands. Convocation marks the beginning of your journey and celebrates the exciting path that lies ahead. Your first Redlands tradition starts here.

Sunset Oct Tamale Chant/Class Photo

As the sun sets on your first day at Redlands, join your classmates for one of the University's favorite traditions: the Och Tamale chant and class photo. Celebrate the start of your Bulldog journey and capture a memory you'll look back on for years to come.

Your Redlands story is officially underway. Hear from university leaders and get your first look at the Common Read and First Year Seminar program, two experiences designed to spark conversation, build community, and kick off your academic journey.

Transfer Student Program (Day 2)

Designed specifically for transfer students, this session will help you navigate your transition to the University of Redlands with confidence. Connect with campus experts, learn about the academic and personal support available to you, and discover opportunities to get involved from day one. Whether you're looking for guidance on academics, career planning, community engagement, or studying away, these sessions will introduce the people and resources that will help you make the most of your Redlands experience.

Bulldog Breakout Sessions

These interactive breakout sessions are designed to help you take your first steps toward academic success at the University of Redlands. Whether you're connecting with your academic college, exploring specialized programs, learning about study away opportunities, or receiving assistance with registration and placement, these sessions will help you navigate the resources, people, and opportunities that will support your journey. Choose the session that best aligns with your interests and goals, ask questions, meet faculty and staff, and begin building your path to success as a Bulldog.

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Bulldog Orientation Fair

From clubs and organizations to campus resources and leadership opportunities, the Bulldog Orientation Fair has something for everyone. Stop by, ask questions, grab some swag, and enjoy live music as you explore all the ways to get involved at Redlands.

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Transfer Student Mixer (Transfer Students Only)  

A welcoming opportunity to meet fellow transfer students, make new connections, and begin building your Redlands network. Enjoy light refreshments, interactive activities, and casual conversations with classmates who are also starting their Bulldog journey. Whether you're transferring from a community college or another university, this event is designed to help you feel at home, find your community, and start the year with new friendships and a strong sense of belonging. 

3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Bulldog Breakout Sessions: Title IX & Navigate360

Learn about two important resources that help create a safe, supportive, and successful campus experience. This session will introduce students to Title IX, including your rights, reporting options, and the University's commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive community. You'll also be introduced to Navigate360, a powerful student success platform that connects you with academic advising, appointment scheduling, campus resources, and important reminders to help you stay on track throughout your Redlands journey. 

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

NSO Keynote Speaker

Kick off your Redlands journey with an inspiring keynote address that will challenge you to think boldly, embrace new opportunities, and make the most of your college experience. Our featured speaker, who will be announced soon, will share insights, personal stories, and words of encouragement to help set the tone for your first year. This is a signature Orientation tradition you won't want to miss as we officially welcome you to the Bulldog community.

DAWGS Presents: Hunsaker After Dark

📍 Hunsaker Student Center & Plaza

When the sun goes down, the fun is just getting started! Hosted by your student programming board, “Doing Activities with Great Spirit,” join your fellow Bulldogs for Hunsaker After Dark, an evening packed with live music, exciting entertainment, arcade games, and plenty of opportunities to connect with new friends. Whether you're showing off your gaming skills, enjoying the music, or simply hanging out with your Orientation group, this high-energy event is the perfect way to unwind, build community, and make lasting memories during your first weekend on campus.

Sunrise Service Project hosted by CSL

Start your day by making a difference. The Sunrise Service Project introduces new Bulldogs to the University's commitment to community engagement and civic responsibility through meaningful service. During this session, you'll learn about the role of the Center for Community Service Learning (CSL), explore the impact of service on the Redlands experience, and gain an understanding of the University's community service requirement. Together, we'll begin building a tradition of service, leadership, and positive impact, values that define what it means to be a Bulldog.

NSO Opening Day 3

As orientation comes to a close, we're looking ahead to everything that's possible during your time at Redlands. Explore the Core 4, meet campus support teams, and learn about the resources that will help you make the most of your Bulldog experience.

Bulldog Breakout Sessions

Our Day 3 sessions provide every new student with the opportunity to explore key resources and skills that support success both inside and outside the classroom. Through interactive workshops, you'll gain practical tools for career readiness, learn about on-campus student employment opportunities, and discover the foundations of building a welcoming, respectful, and engaged campus community. These sessions are designed to help you thrive from your first day as a Bulldog and beyond.

NSO Closing

Celebrate the close of New Student Orientation with a look at what's next. Connect with student leaders, learn how Bulldog Beginnings will support your transition, and get your first taste of the spirit and traditions that bring the Redlands community together.
