A collaboration between faculty in the Biology and Chemistry departments, this program provides a curriculum emphasizing Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. We combine the strengths of both departments, including a dedication to undergraduate learning, building laboratory skills, and conducting meaningful research experiences with faculty mentors.
Advanced courses in Chemistry and Biology enable you to receive thorough training in both disciplines.
Research experience with a faculty mentor is built into our curriculum as part of our senior capstone requirement. There are additional opportunities through our Science Summer Research program.
Faculty are dedicated to undergraduate education to provide personalized learning experiences and mentorship.
As an interdisciplinary program with hands-on experiences, we provide a strong background leading to multiple careers, including medicine, research, and forensic science.
This dual-major program prepares students for careers in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular genetics, and other related health science fields.
Our pre-health programs help students meet the requirements for entry to medical school while exposing them to core science competencies in the liberal arts.

Biochemistry major Rowan Glover ’24 turned uncertainty into achievement through hands-on research in organic chemistry. Working one-on-one with faculty, she helped complete and publish innovative research—an opportunity rarely available to undergraduates. Learn more about her journey, research experience, and work developing new sugar-based chemistry to support safer, more effective medicines.
Our faculty combine academic expertise with real-world experience, mentoring students through coursework, research, and career development.
