Outside Scholarships

We realize that every extra dollar helps in paying for college. Student Financial Services is constantly reviewing information from private organizations to uncover scholarship opportunities that students might not otherwise apply for. We encourage you to stop by our office for more information.

Students who are awarded "outside" scholarships that may be applied to their total costs will have the funds added to their financial aid packages; this may allow us to reduce their loans or adjust their packages.

Interested in earning micro-scholarships for your hard work and accomplishments throughout high school? We encourage you to explore RaiseMe, a free online tool that helps us acknowledge your achievement. Over time, you will earn institutional aid for good grades, club participation, sports, volunteer activities, and more that you can put towards your Redlands education. Click here to learn more.  Micro scholarships are non-stackable and the total award earned is distributed between all four years of attendance at Redlands.

Outside Scholarship Providers

The following organizations have provided information to our office regarding scholarship opportunities. The University of Redlands does not endorse any specific outside scholarship provider. As always, students should be wary of scholarship scams.

Valentine Foundation Scholarship

The Valentine Foundation Scholarship was established in 2010 by Mrs. Becky Valentine to honor her late husband, Bruce, a University of Redlands alumnus from the Class of 1941.  Mrs. Valentine wants to provide the personalized college experience found at the University of Redlands to a qualified student with financial need. The scholarship should be awarded to a student with a strong academic record who is majoring in the sciences.  The Valentine Foundation Scholar should use their Redlands education for maximum good and focus their lives on becoming a productive member of society.

Click here to apply and for additional information about the Valentine Foundation Scholarship requirements. This award is for the 2019-20 year and may meet up to full demonstrated need as determined by the foundation. The Titan Web Agency Bi-Annual Scholarship Program

At Titan Web Agency, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the community and help those looking to build a business and are in financial need. We’re specifically looking to help students who come with a desire to own their own business, and with a financial need. Recently, tuition fees have been surpassing the rate of inflation. Higher education is becoming more expensive. And the College Board reports that the average tuition fee for a public four-year university is over $9,000. This figure does not include textbooks, computers, lab fee’s etc. So twice every year we will be awarding $500 to students to help them receive the education they deserve. We know it isn’t a great deal of money, but we are hoping that it will help the person who is awarded the scholarship.
