Dean's Education Specialist Scholarship

The University of Redlands is deeply committed to supporting those in the educational community who work with special needs students. The Dean’s Education Specialist Scholarship encourages educational and career achievement for those who wish to earn the California Educational Specialist credential or the Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching - Education Specialist

 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a new student to the Education Specialist Credential or MA in Learning and Teaching, Education Specialist program.
  • Award winners may not defer their enrollment. 
  • Award winners remain eligible for the award if they stop out of the program, if the stop-out period is less than one calendar year.

 

How to Apply

  • A complete application to the EdSpec program.
  • Submit an essay between 500-1000 words. An optional video essay is also accepted in addition to the written submission, but should be no more than three minutes in length. 
  • Essay question options: (1) Address the concept of educational justice as it relates to special-needs student. (2) Address why working with special-needs students is meaningful for you. 
  • Resume or CV. 
  • Students must submit all scholarship application items electronically. Paper submissions will not be accepted.

 

Award

  • Award winners will receive up to a 25% discount off the cost of tuition. 
  • Students may receive this award concurrently with a strategic partner discount, not to exceed 35% discount in total. 
  • Students may not receive this award concurrently with a Graduate Assistantship award.
  • This award has no cash value.
  • Awards may be transferred to another degree or academic program within the School of Education. 

 

Award

  • Award recipients will receive up to a 25% discount of the cost of the program. 
  • A maximum discount of 25% is available, even if the applicant is eligible for a corporate discount.

Spring 2023

Application due at the same time as program application  November 1, 2022

 

Summer 2023

Application due at the same time as program application March 1, 2023

Scholarship recipients will be notified in conjunction with their acceptance into the program.
