Professional Background 

Dr. Deborah D. Grijalva has over 15 years of experience in higher education. Deborah joined the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) as the Assistant Director in 2020 and has served as the Associate Director of SCS since 2021.

As of May 2022 Dr. Grijalva was named the Interim Director of SCS. Deborah will report to the provost and oversee the SCS staff, manage the budget, and serve as the primary liaison with academic affairs and university leadership. Deborah will continue to work with her team on many responsibilities, including SCS curriculum development, adjunct hiring, adjunct professional support, management of recruitment and marketing, and workforce preparedness. Deborah will lead the SCS collaboration with the SCS Curriculum Committee and the deans of the Schools and College on new certificates and pathways.

As the Associate Director for the SCS at the University of Redlands, Deborah oversees operations, hiring, onboarding, training, and managing of adjunct faculty and staff. Additionally, she is responsible for marketing and recruitment for degree preparation programs, certificate programs, and other continuing education opportunities within SCS. Previously at California State University, San Bernardino, Dr. Grijalva served as the Executive Program Coordinator for the Master of Business Administration program at the Jack H. Brown College of Business & Public Administration.
