The Community School of Music and the Arts (CSMA) was founded in 1981 by the University of Redlands to provide quality year-round musical instruction for children and adults. CSMA is committed to providing affordable lessons to all applicants from highly qualified instructors. The faculty includes the professional artist faculty (full-time and adjunct) of the University of Redlands, outstanding instructors from the Inland Empire, and qualified undergraduate and graduate students pursuing professional music degrees.
With an enrollment of over 400 students and 70+ instructors, the CSMA offers private instruction in wind, string and brass instruments, percussion, piano, voice, guitar, harp, and organ, along with a Suzuki piano and violin program, Early Childhood Music, Youth Orchestra, Youth Choir, and String Project. Housed on the University of Redlands campus, the CSMA uses Conservatory of Music facilities and resources for its programs.
The CSMA is proud to prepare young musicians for their future musical goals. Whether these include college degrees, participation in professional ensembles, the personal enjoyment of music, or enlightening audiences on stage, we look forward to providing quality instruction!
