What does your prison ID number mean to you?

“It's an assigned number of a time when I changed in life.

“Yeah, some people see it as, like, a number. You're in a herd as if you’re a cow or a livestock or something. That was a number that's initially your identification. It's your identity.

“That was my identity in prison. But that identity was, it was for the better. It was the identity of change, you know. Identity of accomplishments. Things that I did that no way would have happened if I didn't go to prison. That's why it's like, that number always reminds me of how I changed myself. The time when I changed myself.”
