San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Excellence in Leadership Scholarship

The generous support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has made it possible for the University of Redlands to provide a level of assistance and instruction for Native American/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian students unmatched by other colleges and universities in the Inland Empire.

Applicants for the scholarship must: 

  • Demonstrate a commitment and connection to a Native community through leadership and advocacy
  • Be a full-time student
  • Plan to contribute valuable efforts and participation to Native communities after graduation.

While scholarship preference will be given to students from Southern California tribal communities, this scholarship is available to all undergraduate Native American/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian students applying to, or currently attending, the University of Redlands.

How to Apply:

There are two ways to access to application: 

A Complete Application consists of:

  • Scholarship Application either submitted online or downloaded and submitted by postal mail or email
  • One (1) Letter of Recommendation
  • Three Short Answer Questions 
  • Original CIB or Affiliation of Ancestry
