The Residence Life and Housing team would like to provide you some updates as we are half way through the semester. Please review the information below to learn about Fresh Check Day, lock outs, Thanksgiving Break, Fall Closing, Late Departure, Winter Break Housing, and important dates.
Fresh Check Day
Fresh Check Day, a program of the Jordan Porco Foundation, is an uplifting mental health promotion and suicide prevention event that aims to engage students in dialogue about mental health and create awareness of the mental health resources available on campus, in the community, and nationally.
Join RLH on its second Fresh Check Day on Wednesday, October 18th from 4-6pm at Hunsaker Plaza interactive games and a chance to win an iPad and other prizes!
Lock Outs
Residents who lock themselves out of their community and/or room and require assistance from any University employee in regaining access (including Resident Assistants and Public Safety) will be documented. After the second documented lockout, a fine will be assessed and RLH will reach out to you directly regarding next steps.
Thanksgiving Break
Housing:
All housing remains open during Thanksgiving Break, November 22-24th.

Fall Semester Closing
All communities, including apartments and organizational houses, close for Winter Break on Friday, December 8th at 2 PM.
Late Departure Request
To request a one-night extension for moving-out or departing campus for Winter Break, please complete the Late Departure Request form that can be found on the MyRedlands Housing Portal under Applications and Forms and are due by Monday, November 27th. For a cost of $100, charged to your student account, you will be permitted to remain until Saturday, December 9th at 2 PM.
Winter Break Housing Petition
If you need a place to stay for Winter Break, December 8th through January 6th, such as athletes in season, international/exchange students with housing challenges, or for those who are housing insecure, please submit a petition for housing using the Winter Break Housing Petition that can be found on the MyRedlands Housing Portal under Applications and Forms.
You must petition by Monday, November 27th to be considered for housing during any part of the break. Please be aware that all dining services are suspended during the entirety of Winter Break. The cost for Winter Break Housing is $110 per week, charged to your student account.
