January Reminders from Residence Life and Housing

Hello Bulldogs!

The Residence Life and Housing staff hopes you had some time to rest over Winter Break and we are excited to welcome you back to campus! Please see the reminders below regarding meal plans, checking in, the RA application, the housing selection and placement process, and closing.

Meal Plan Reminder – Change deadline tomorrow (1/12)

  • To view your current meal plan or to make a change, please visit the MyRedlands Housing Portal by Friday, January 12th. After January 12th, you will not be able to downgrade your meal plan assignment for the spring semester.

Check In Reminder

You will need to check in on your MyRedlands Housing Portal to let us know you have moved in. To access the Spring Check In you will need to:

  • Log into your MyRedlands Housing Portal
  • On the homepage scroll down to Assignments
  • Under Assignments you will select the “Begin Express Check In”
  • Check off the I agree to an Express Check In
  • Click on the Complete Check In

RA Application Reminder

Are you interested in taking part in an incredible leadership opportunity within our residence halls? The RA application is open and the last day to apply is on January 31st.

If you have not done so already, join us at one of the mandatory information sessions to learn more about the position and get your questions answered. 

  • Friday, January 12, 2024, from 1pm-2pm in Gregory 272 
  • Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 5pm-6pm in Gregory 272 
  • Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 6-7pm in Gregory 272 

Off Campus Petition and Quad Application

The Off Campus Petition and Quad Application will become available on your MyRedlands Housing Portal on February 1st.

  • The Off Campus Petition is for those who meet one of the four residential requirement exemption criteria and would like to receive off campus approval for the 2024-25 academic year. Students who already have off campus approval do not need to reapply.
  • The Quad Application is for those students who are interested in living in a 4-person occupancy room. Quad rooms are located in Cortner Hall. Placements in these rooms are reviewed in collaboration with Student Financial Services (SFS) due to limited inventory and priority is given to those with financial need.

Housing Selection and Placement Process

As we start to prepare for the Housing Selection and Placement Process for the 2024-25 academic year which will take place later in the spring, we wanted to share some information with you.

  • What is Room Draw? Room Draw is the process in which students select their housing assignments and roommates for next year. Every student is assigned a participation selection time based on their class standing and GPA. It will take place from April 1st- 4th and during the week students will have the opportunity to select their buildings and room spaces for next year, and spaces will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Spring Closing

We wanted to provide some clarification regarding spring closing. Only students enrolled in an on-campus May Term course are able to live on campus during May Term. All students not in a May Term course will move out by Saturday, April 27th at 2 PM, the day after Commencement. To learn more about the Commencement 2024 schedule please click here.
