Gardeners in Residence

What

Student gardeners are able to perform general gardening tasks such as weeding, planting, pruning, irrigation, water pond maintenance, and basic garden upkeep. Gardeners are also able to assist in planning and creating new garden areas as needed throughout contracted sites in the city of Redlands.

The Gardeners in Residence program has partnered with local elementary schools, senior care facilities, and others programs to teach basic gardening skills to elementary school children and others. Under the supervision of a master gardener, district teacher, or agency director, gardeners in residence will assist and teach integrated lessons in math, English, history, and other curricular topics with practical applications.
