Global Opportunities for Faculty
The Office of Global Education oversees university-sponsored travel, activities, and the proposal process for Redlands faculty and staff. These resources outline the process for developing and leading international travel programs and provide an overview of the registration process.
University-Sponsored International Travel
The University International Travel and Activities Policy governs all international travel and activities sponsored or co-sponsored by University of Redlands. This includes individual faculty/staff travel, undergraduate, graduate, professional degree, or certificate programs, or any other programs arranged and/or sponsored by a campus, a school, the College, or a department that in any way relates to University business.

Faculty/Staff International Group Travel Proposal Process
Faculty and staff interested in leading international initiatives can propose programs through our structured process. Eligible group travel categories include:
- Faculty-led travel courses: Programs offered during May-Term, Summer, Spring Break, and traditional Fall and Spring semesters.
- Group international travel: Travel arranged for athletic teams, alumni trips, undergraduate and graduate students' independent international research, and other institutional group endeavors.

Individual Faculty/Staff International Travel Registration
University policy requires that all individual, university-sponsored international travel be officially registered for risk management, emergency communication, and insurance coverage purposes. This mandatory registration applies to any international travel supported by department funds, university resources, or grants administered through University of Redlands. Common activities that require individual travel registration include: Attending or Presenting at International Conferences, Conducting Overseas Research, Professional Collaboration, Student Recruitment, and Partnership Development.

Other Global Teaching & Research Opportunities
While not university-sponsored, the following external programs offer exceptional pathways for faculty to teach, research, and collaborate internationally:
- Fulbright Scholar Program: With over 400 awards annually in more than 135 countries, faculty can explore opportunities to teach, conduct research, and carry out professional projects.
- DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service): DAAD works to foster connections between scholars and institutions in North America and their counterparts in Germany by offering a number of programs to strengthen academic links.
