Dr. Donna Eddleman assumed leadership of student affairs at the University of Redlands as university dean of student affairs on August 1, 2017. Eddleman most recently served as the vice president for student affairs at Manhattanville College, a private liberal arts college in New York. At Manhattanville, Eddleman guided the development of a center for inclusion and chaired or served on task forces or committees examining campus culture, student engagement, and retention. Previously, Eddleman was deputy dean of students at New York University Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where she served the needs of students from 110 countries while guiding the daily operations of the 88-employee Campus Life Division.
She has also served as vice president for student affairs/services at West Texas A&M and Southern Utah Universities. Earlier leadership experiences with students and student life included dean- and director-level positions at Christopher Newport University (Virginia), Colorado Northwestern Community College, and Mount Saint Mary College (New York).
Eddleman holds a doctorate in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from the College of William and Mary; a Masters of Social Science/Human Resource Management from Utah State University; and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from State University of New York, Albany.
Reporting to the President, the university dean of student affairs serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and plays a key role in the development of University policy. As the senior student affairs administrator for the campus, Eddleman is responsible for providing leadership and administrative direction in the areas of athletics, professional development, campus diversity and inclusion, orientation, residence life, community service learning, health services, the counseling center, chaplain's office, student conduct, student leadership and involvement, outdoor programs and intramurals, and dining services.
