Mariya Palanjian brings more than 25 years of marketing leadership experience across higher education, technology, government, and consumer organizations. She combines deep institutional knowledge with a broad, results-driven perspective shaped by work across multiple sectors.

A leader with a strong entrepreneurial vision, Mariya has built and scaled four successful startups, collectively generating numerous jobs and earning recognition in the broader media landscape. Throughout her career, she has led complex marketing initiatives that bridge strategy, creativity, and performance, with a particular focus on aligning brand, audience insight, and outcomes.

Committed to advancing effective, mission-driven marketing, Mariya brings a collaborative leadership style and a strong understanding of how marketing and communications can support institutional momentum and long-term impact.

Mariya holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Woodbury University.

Office of the Vice President of Marketing and Communications

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications reports directly to the President and serves on the President’s Cabinet. The vice president is responsible for leading the University’s collective branding, marketing, and communications initiatives while partnering with enrollment leaders across campus to support student recruitment and retention.
