About Jeff Bellantoni

With a career spanning 30 years as an arts educator, designer, and author, Jeff Bellantoni is the Vice Provost at the University of Redlands, Los Angeles (formerly Woodbury University). Most recently, he served as the Interim President and Senior Academic Officer for Woodbury University, following his tenure as Dean of the School of Media: Culture: Design.

Prior to joining the University of Redlands, Jeff was Dean of the College of Visual & Performing Arts at Winthrop University and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Ringling College of Art and Design. From 2008 to 2014, he chaired the nationally ranked Graduate Communications Design Department at Pratt Institute in New York, where he established the MFA program, Pratt Press, and the Graduate Design Guild. Earlier in his career, he held faculty and administrative positions at the University of Connecticut, VCU School of the Arts, Mercy College, and Wanganui School of Design in New Zealand.

Jeff holds an MFA in Visual Communications/Design from VCU School of the Arts, and a BFA from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is the co-author and designer of several internationally published titles on Typography and Media – including the best-selling Type in Motion and Moving Type, Designing for Time and Space.  He has also written on graphic design for HOW Magazine and other design publications. His design work has been recognized by Print magazine, AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers, and the Connecticut Art Director’s Club, and he has presented at conferences, events, and educational institutions around the world.

Office of the Vice Provost

The Vice Provost serves as the Provost’s liaison for all processes relating to faculty support, including appointment, compensation, development, evaluation, governance, and problem-solving. The Vice Provost works closely with faculty governance leaders and ensures faculty workflows adhere to the Faculty Handbook. The Vice Provost also supports key academic systems overseen by the Provost’s Office, including accreditation, assessment, course schedule stewardship, and sponsored program development.
