About

Kendra Nelson brings a diverse, interdisciplinary background to the field of kinesiology, combining more than 15 years of clinical experience in physical therapy with over a decade of work in higher education. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, a master’s degree in corporate communications, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism—an academic path that reflects her ability to bridge science, communication, and patient care.

Her clinical practice has focused on sports physical therapy, including extensive work with collegiate athletes, as well as patient care in inpatient hospital and private practice settings. This hands-on experience informs her teaching and mentoring, particularly in areas related to injury prevention, rehabilitation, biomechanics, and human performance.

For more than 10 years, Nelson has taught at the university level, delivering coursework in biology, kinesiology, and other health-related fields. She is passionate about helping students connect scientific principles to real-world applications in health care, fitness, and wellness.
