About

Kerri Mitchell has taught in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders since 2015. Her areas of interest include pediatric and adult dysphagia, voice disorders, and early language intervention. Her primary responsibilities include clinical teaching in assessment and intervention within medical settings.

Professional Background

Prior to joining University of Redlands, Kerri Mitchell served as speech-language pathology supervisor at Redlands Community Hospital, where she partnered with the University to establish an externship program enabling students to participate in weekly grand rounds with patients presenting swallowing, language, and cognitive deficits. She previously worked at St. Bernardine’s Medical Center and San Bernardino Community Hospital. Her clinical training and interests include neonatal intensive care with premature infants, adult dysphagia, voice disorders, and tracheostomy management. She is trained in the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSiMP) and cue-based feeding in the NICU.
