About Matthew Bridgewater
Matthew Bridgewater is an associate professor of English the University of Redlands-Los Angeles.
His research interests include American civic discourse (particularly that of antebellum America), rhetorical history, and rhetorical theory. As a former department chair and writing program administrator, he is also interested in writing pedagogy and assessment. And his recent work as an accreditation liaison officer led to an interest in the politics and value of higher education.
He teaches courses in general education writing, legal writing, presidential rhetoric, great American speeches, the American short story, and survey courses in history and literature.
