University of Redlands ranked #1 in the West

University of Redlands has been ranked #1 Top Private Regional University in the West (tie) by U.S. News & World Report in its newly released 2027 Best Colleges rankings.

The recognition extends across several additional categories: #3 among Regional Universities in the West (tie) for the fifth consecutive year, #5 Best Value, #3 Best College for Veterans (tie), and #17 for Social Mobility (tie). Redlands also ranks among the top 15% of colleges nationwide in the Wall Street Journal/College Pulse rankings at No. 89 out of 584 institutions.

“Redlands offers a unique balance of academic challenge and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom,” University of Redlands President Krista Newkirk said. “Our Core Four, which includes study abroad, undergraduate research, community service learning, and internships, gives students the opportunity to explore their interests, put their learning into practice, and gain real-world experience.”

Vice President for Enrollment Kevin Dyerly pointed to a convergence of momentum behind the milestone.

“The #1 ranking is a signal of so many exciting things happening at Redlands — including a national championship in women's softball, the second largest applicant pool in University history, and the addition of nationally renowned programs in architecture, media, and design at University of Redlands, Los Angeles.”
