Policy Making in Washington D.C.
Washington D.C. POLI 257 is faculty-led by Professor Eric McLaughlin and Professor Graeme Auton. Students need to submit their interest to faculty-leaders by October 1st. All application materials must be submitted by October 28th.
Course description
Build your network. Explore your career. Experience the capital.
Spend this May living in the heart of the nation’s capital, meeting with University of Redlands alumni working on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies, law, advocacy, public policy, international affairs, and beyond. You’ll hear from them how they built their careers—and learn how you can begin building yours.
You will make connections, explore internship possibilities, and discover new career paths. You’ll get firsthand advice about graduate school and law school. In the meantime, you can experience Washington itself through visits to the institutions, museums, neighborhoods, monuments, and historic places that make the nation’s capital unique.

Course fee
$2,800
Included in the course fee:
- Includes housing and all mandatory activities.
Not included in the course fee:
- Airfare, local transportation, food, and optional activities are not included.
- Please budget an additional $1,500 to $2,000 for these items. Financial aid is available!
Prequistite
None. Open to all majors and classes!
