The most angelic sounding camp imaginable! Offered by Artist Teacher, Jillian Lopez, for intermediate to advanced harp players from middle school aged students to adults. Participants will receive instruction in a range of musical literature spanning from jazz, pop, classical, Celtic, contemporary, and musical theatre on either pedal harp or lever harp. Career development and performance masterclasses will also be given by acclaimed harpists Lynne Aspnes and Jillian Lopez!

Who is eligible to register?

Registration is open to intermediate to advanced harpists 13 and up! All levels are welcome.

Total Camp Tuition: $500 per participant

Ensemble Only Tuition: $300 per participant

Workshops for Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium and Tuba will allow students to improve their individual playing and collaborative skills. These three days of camp will be packed with small and large ensemble workshops, rehearsals and masterclasses led by University of Redlands Brass Faculty and conclude with a final concert open to the public.

Camp dates and times:

Brass Camp meets from 10:00am - 1:00pm daily June 11-13 with a finale concert  June 13 at 12:00pm.

Summer Brass Camp is open to students high school age and older.

Welcome to the University of Redlands Summer Theatre Intensive!  This two-week training program immerses young artists in classes that awaken and grow their talent, curiosity, and enthusiasm for performing. Led by actor and University of Redlands instructor Allison Scarlet Jaye and other industry professional guest artists, the program will include training in acting techniques, scene study, voice for the actor, movement, and audition practices. The program concludes with a showcase presentation of skills practiced throughout the two weeks. Emphasis is placed on developing authenticity and supporting each young artist’s individuality.

Open to ages 13-18, the University of Redlands Summer Theatre Intensive lays the groundwork for young artists to be competitive in college, university, and entertainment industry auditions and apply their gained skills to an exciting journey in the arts and beyond.

Intensive dates and times:

July 22 - August 2, 2024

Monday through Friday from 10:00am - 5:00pm

Culmination Showcase on Friday from 5:30 - 6:30pm

Registration is open to student artists between the ages of 13-18. No theatre experience is necessary.

During this week-long camp, students will rehearse various songs for performance, receive theory and sight-reading training, and have the opportunity to connect with other young singers through bonding activities and musical games. No experience is necessary!

Camp dates and times:

Youth Choir Camp (ages 8-16) meets from 9:00am - 12:00pm daily

Training Chorus Camp (ages 5-7) meets from 9:00am - 10:00am daily

Both groups finish with a finale concert

Who is eligible to register?

This camp is open to young singers ages 5-16. Youth Choir is open to ages 8-16. Training Chorus is for ages 5-7. No previous experience is necessary!

Camp Schedule

Youth Choir (ages 8-16) will meet from 9:00am - 12:00pm Monday through Friday.

Training Chorus (ages 5-7) will meet from 9:00am - 10:00am Monday through Friday.

Final Concert (both groups): Friday, July 19 at 5:00pm

The Summer Cello Workshop (SCW) began in 2017 as a collaborative effort led by Lucy Cahuantzi, while in her second year of graduate studies at University of Redlands. SCW is a comprehensive 6 day music program for young cellists.  The schedule is filled with private lessons, monitored individual practice time, cello ensemble coaching sessions, cello orchestra rehearsals and daily performance classes.  The week culminates with Masterclasses and a Cello Extravaganza Concert of student cello quartets and cello orchestra.

Camp dates and times:

Summer Cello Workshop meets from 9:00am - 4:00pm daily with a finale concert. Participants will arrive at 10:00am for a dress rehearsal.

Who is eligible to register?

Students who have played the cello for a minimum of 1 year and are between the ages of 12-18 are encouraged to apply.  Accomplished cellists over the age of 18 interested in interning with this program may contact Kyle Champion at kyle_champion@redlands.edu for more information.

How do I register?

In order to register for the Summer Cello Workshop, download, complete and submit the Summer Cello Workshop Registration to the Community School of Music and the Arts at csma@redlands.edu. Registration will close once all slots are filled.

All registrants must submit a placement video to cahuantzi.luz@gmail.com. These submissions will be used to group students by playing level. The video should include: any current solo piece and any 2 or 3 octave major scale. Informal cell phone video submissions are acceptable.

The University of Redlands Piano Camp is a unique summer program encompassing a wide variety of study and exploratory experiences for Intermediate and Advanced Pianists, ages 10-18. Located on the beautiful University campus, the Camp provides a rich, stimulating, focused and fun environment. The goal is to enhance a student’s enjoyment of the piano and foster a deeper appreciation of music while working together with teachers and other students in a supportive community. Camp activities are oriented toward exploring the world of music through interactive classes, with opportunities for both solo and ensemble performance.
