Progress on the Memorial Chapel

We want to provide an update on the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel, which remains closed while we address the ceiling issues identified earlier this summer.

As part of the assessment, the roof was inspected, and a missing roof tile was identified, which caused a water leak resulting in ceiling damage. Our facilities teams are currently working with our insurance company to schedule the necessary repairs and will perform a thorough inspection of the chapel to ensure the community can enjoy a safe return to the facility.

While the timing of the work is not yet finalized, we are hopeful that the Chapel will reopen in early 2027.

We will continue to share updates as the work progresses. If you have questions regarding the repair work, please contact Mauro Diaz, Interim Executive Director of Operations, at 818-252-5297 or mauro_diaz@redlands.edu.
