Dear University Community,
I am thrilled to announce the launch of our search for the University’s next Vice President of Student Affairs.
The Vice President of Student Affairs is a key leadership position in the President’s Cabinet and is instrumental in shaping policies that directly impact the student experience
while also providing oversight across several University departments, including inclusion and community, Greek Life, student conduct and leadership, and residence life.
I will chair the search, supported by a search committee that includes representatives from the Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and staff, who will be named soon. We are also fortunate to have RPA, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in student affairs searches, assist us in the process. President Dana John Cohick will lead the RPA team.
While this is an exciting step forward, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the outstanding work of our Interim Vice President of Student Affairs, Sandy Vasquez. Her fresh perspective and active engagement have energized our Bulldog community, and I am grateful for her continued collaboration.
Our goal will be to hire the new Vice President by early spring 2025 at the latest, and we will keep the campus community updated as the process moves forward.
Thank you for your hard work and continued support!
Sincerely,
Krista L. Newkirk
President
