[1] Staff and full-time faculty, excluding adjuncts, at all campuses. New hires have 60 days to report vaccination status; those who have not yet provided documentation are included in the “Unknown” category, which is why this number fluctuates.
[2] Almost entirely in-person.
[3] Student numbers include only those who participate in on-campus classes; the vaccination status of online students is not tracked. The School of Continuing Studies is currently holding most classes online.
[4] Numbers include all active students, regardless of their participation in on-campus or online classes, and may include students who are in the process of having their degrees signed off.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated its “Holidays and COVID-19” page with tips for gathering safely this holiday season.
In anticipation of Thanksgiving break, please remember the decisions you make related to COVID-19 risk management will impact our community. Please be cautious and consider getting tested before leaving and after returning to campus. Given the spike in COVID-19 cases across the country following national holidays, after the break, it will be especially important to continue wearing face coverings indoors to protect fellow Bulldogs. Thank you for your help keeping our community safe!
Journalist Sarah Zhang of The Atlantic writes that we need to confront the hardest questions about living with the coronavirus long term in “America Has Lost the Plot on COVID.”
