Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has been part of the University of Redlands campus for more than 50 years. Within the College of Arts and Sciences, the department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders, an undergraduate minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders,  and a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. The Department also houses the Truesdail Center Clinic which offers speech-language therapy services to adults and children across ten specialty areas. 

The mission of the Department is to develop excellence in academics and community engagement in our undergraduate and graduate speech-language pathology students. The department emphasizes a strong liberal arts and science-based foundation to develop thinking skills and communication abilities. The collaborative relationship among students and faculty is personal and meaningful, contributing to the development of caring and expert professionals. The undergraduate program is designed around a strong liberal arts foundation that emphasizes thinking skills and communication abilities. The graduate program seeks to help students develop the disciplinary knowledge, professional skills, and cultural-linguistic awareness needed for meaningful clinical practice in speech-language pathology. The collaborative relationship among students and faculty is personal, meaningful, and contributes to a reputation for producing caring and expert professionals.
