Andover Educators 9th Biennial Conference
“Building Bridges Through Collaboration”
University of Redlands
June 20 - 23, 2019
Pre-Conference June 18 & 19

We are thrilled to announce that our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Bronwen Ackerman who is a specialist musicians' physiotherapist, musculoskeletal anatomist and musicians' health researcher at the University of Sydney, Australia. She is also the editor of Medical Problems of Performing Artists, which is the official journal of the Performing Arts Medical Association. Her Keynote Address, “The Musician in Action - From the Inside Out,” will be based on her field of expertise - motor control and movement in musicians and factors that influence this. She has done extensive research with musicians and will be a great resource for us. Private sessions, focusing on optimizing movement in musical playing actions, will be available with Dr. Ackerman.

The theme “Building Bridges Through Collaboration” was chosen to help us become more effective collaborators with medical people as part of wellness teams, other groups, such as church musicians, theater groups, or performance artists, colleagues within our musical worlds, and our students.

The conference will feature the complete What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body® course, member and guest presentations, supervised teaching, masterclasses, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, concerts and learning! The University of Redlands is located 80 miles east of Los Angeles. The campus is absolutely gorgeous and there are many activities to do in the area if you chose to extend your trip to CA.
