The Summer Cello Workshop (SCW) began in 2017 as a collaborative effort led by Lucy Cahuantzi, while in her second year of graduate studies at University of Redlands. Typically, SCW is a comprehensive 6 day music program for young cellists. The schedule is filled with private lessons, monitored individual practice time, cello ensemble coaching sessions, cello orchestra rehearsals and daily performance classes. The week culminates with Masterclasses and a Cello Extravaganza Concert of student cello quartets and cello orchestra.
This year we will be offering a two-day intensive capped at 24 students.
Out of an abundance of caution due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Summer Piano Camp has been cancelled. We're looking forward to the return of the Summer Piano Camp in 2021. In the meantime, we are continuing to offer remote piano lessons through our Community School of Music and the Arts. For more information visit www.redlands.edu/csma.
