Sunja Y. Kim, pianist, is a native of South Korea and has been living in the United States since 1994. Ms. Kim holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of Redlands where she studied with Professor Louanne Long. At the University of Redlands she was a recipient of the LeHigh Endowed Piano Scholarship and held an Assistantship in Accompanying. Ms. Kim performed on the prestigious President's Honor Recital, a recital that showcases the most outstanding talent in the University of Redlands School of Music. She was named a winner in the 2001-02 Solo and Concerto Competition.

In her extensive career, Ms. Kim has collaborated in recital and recording with many musicians. She was the professional accompanist for, Steven Pettigrew, a young boy soprano who was a recording artist with whom she collaborates in the making of CDs. In June 2002, she recorded hymns and lyrics by Bong S. Ro (composer and conductor) with Soprano Kyoung Hee Youn (Professor, Baek Jae Art College in South Korea).

Ms.Kim began her musical studies in her homeland at the age of eight. By the age of ten she was winning prizes in local competitions as well as playing the piano for the church her family attended. By the time she was a teenager she was winning prizes in national competition, including third prize in the Kyunggi Province Music Contest, and Grand Prize in the National Nanpa Music Contest of South Korea. In 1993 she received a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Piano Performance from Sang Myung University in Seoul, South Korea. .

Ms.Kim lives in Loma Linda with her husband Dr. Jinsoo Jason Kim and their two children, Joshua and Deborah. She is currently a member of the Music Teacher's Association of California, Redlands Branch, and maintains a piano studio in her home. She has been teaching at the University of Redlands Summer Piano Camp since 2008. In addition, she has been serving as pianist for the Loma Linda Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church and working with Inland Korean Ladies Choir since 1994.
