Allison Scarlet Jaye is a bi-coastal actor, playwright, singer, and yoga teacher hailing from Southern California and New York.  As an arts educator for over 20 years, Allison specializes in teaching Voice, Acting Technique, Shakespeare, Collaborative/Devised Theatre, Solo Performance, and Movement.

Allison's artistic credits span the globe, having been a long-time cast-member and songstress in off-Broadway's genre-defining immersive theatre production of Sleep No More, various roles in Pittsburgh's Civic Light Opera and Pittsburgh Irish Classical Theatre, as well as traveling the world performing Dominique Morisseau's Blood at the Root, a play written for the 2014 Graduate Acting cohort at Penn State University wherein Allison originated the role of "Toria," which Morisseau wrote for her.  Blood at the Root won multiple national and international awards and was performed in South Africa, Australia, Scotland, New York City's National Black Theatre of Harlem, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and various locations in the regional United States.  Allison's own play, hurt people, which explores relationships and gun control, premiered at the 2015 United Solo Theatre Festival on Theatre Row in New York City.  She is in various stages of the creative writing process for three feature films, two shorts, a series, and several plays and adaptations.  

A champion for authentic, truthful storytelling, joined with her extensive experience in creating and devising theatre pieces, Allison's strengths as an artist and educator lie in the committed practice of telling and responding to the truth.  Giving students and artists permission to bring and reveal their unique humanity to every performance, rehearsal, and experience makes them stronger to, not only compete in a rigorous and demanding industry, but stay empowered and in their worth no matter the time, place, or career path.  She is a fierce advocate, a mouthy ARTivist, a nurturing educator, and a raw performer whose mission is to help artists and audiences strengthen their brave, nascent ability to tell their story, and the stories of others, with truth, humanity, and heart.
