General Info: 

Parking: There is 1 major parking lot available to patrons of the Theatre Arts Department off Sylvan Blvd. In this parking lot there are handicap spaces and energy efficient parking. Both theatres are accessible from this parking lot. There is street parking available along University St. starting from the train station to the turn onto Sylvan Blvd, though there is not a wheelchair accessible ramp from the front.  

Frederick Loewe Theatre

The lobby and entrance to the theatre are at sidewalk/ground level, but do not have automatic doors to enter building. Ushers will open doors for patrons who require assistance.

Seating: This theatre has non-reserved seating. Patrons sit wherever they choose to upon arrival. If seating needs to be accommodated, it is best to arrive early or call our box office ahead of time to coordinate. We will be happy to reserve appropriate accessibility needs seating.

Rows that can be accessed without using stairs: The 1st row of each section floor level can be accessed without the use of stairs.

Wheelchair Access: The first row is at stage level and is accessible with a wheelchair space plus a companion seat. Advance notice of the need for wheelchair-accessible seating is not required but is helpful and may expedite your seating on the evening of the performance. Please contact us in advance if possible.

Restrooms: There are Men’s and Women’s restrooms available adjacent to the lobby. Both are wheelchair accessible and each contain a wheelchair accessible stall. There is a gender-neutral single bathroom upstairs on the 2nd floor, accessible by stairs or elevator within the theatre building. An usher can direct you to the best pathway. 

Hearing: Headsets are available for hearing impaired patrons available at the box office desk.

Vision: There should be no obstructed view in this theatre but is dependent on the scenic design and audience configuration.

Service Animals: All service animals are welcome. Emotional support/comfort animals are not allowed. Service animals must perform tasks related to the handler's disability.

 

Glenn Wallichs Theatre

The lobby and entrance to the theatre are at sidewalk level. The door to the right does have automatic doors.

Seating: This theatre usually has reserved seating for productions therefore when purchasing a ticket, you can choose your seat. If seating needs to be accommodated, please call our box office to coordinate.

Rows that can be accessed without using stairs: All the rows in this theatre can be accessed without the use of stairs. The theatre side aisles are angled downward towards the stage.

Wheelchair Access: There is a designated space in the back of the theatre for a wheelchair space and companion seat. The front row can also accommodate a wheelchair with a companion seat. You can choose these accessible seats upon purchase of your ticket. If for some reason a production in this theatre does not have reserved seating, it is best to arrive early or call our box office ahead of time to coordinate.

Restrooms: In the lobby there are Male & Female restrooms available, both are located to the right and left of the lobby entrance, although do not contain a wheelchair accessible stall. There is a third restroom that is both wheelchair accessible and gender neutral to the right of the lobby entrance. 

Hearing: There is no assisted listening device available in this theatre. 

Vision: This is a proscenium style theatre; the audience will be facing the same direction towards the stage and should not have their view impaired.
